02 — Industries and Applications

Advance Capability for Demanding Sectors

CalGroup applies integrated design, casting, machining and quality capabilities to components where material performance, dimensional accuracy and dependable execution matter. Each sector is approached through the same capability-led lens, with solutions developed around the component, performance and qualification requirements.

Railways

Engineering and manufacturing solutions developed around customer-specific speed, load and wear requirements—from high-speed passenger projects such as Vande Bharat to heavy-haul freight corridors.

Renewable Energy

Engineering and manufacturing solutions developed for high strength-to-weight performance, fatigue resistance and precision-machined interfaces across components exposed to continuous cyclic loading.

Aerospace & Defence

Precision-engineered solutions developed for applications where minimum weight, maximum strength, tight tolerances and complete material traceability are critical to performance and qualification.

Automotive

Fully CNC-machined castings developed for repeatable dimensional accuracy, reduced component weight and precise mating between interconnected parts across high-volume production.

Mining & Construction

Heavy-duty solutions developed around impact, load and abrasion requirements—optimising material composition, heat treatment and machining for longer wear life in severe operating conditions.

05 — Infrastructure

A Foundry Developed With UK Specialists

CalGroup’s foundry and process systems were developed with UK specialists, combining globally informed practices with integrated in-house capability for standard and customised manufacturing.

Electric Arc Furnace

Large-scale melting capacity with controlled alloy and process management.

In-House Pattern Shop

Integrated pattern and tooling development supports faster revisions, shorter lead times and improved manufacturability.

Alpha Set No-Bake Moulding

Repeatable mould preparation for dimensional accuracy, surface finish and large casting requirements.

Heat Treatment

Controlled normalising, tempering and related processes for the required strength and stability.

Precision Machining

CNC and VMC capability for large, heavy and precision-engineered components.

Fabrication and Welding

Integrated fabrication and welding capability for complete, application-ready solutions.

06 — Product Design and Engineering

Designed With Purpose

CalGroup supports product development from an initial requirement through validated production. Design for Manufacturability helps optimise the manufacturing route, casting process, chemical composition, wall thickness, strength, cost and overall producibility before full-scale manufacturing.

/ 01

2D/3D Drafting & Simulation

Detailed drafting, component and assembly modelling, and casting-flow simulation help identify risks before production.

/ 02

Casting Methodology

Gating, risering, material behaviour and process parameters are developed and refined for consistent casting outcomes.

/ 03

Patterns & Prototyping

In-house pattern and tooling development supports faster iteration, while prototypes and stage-wise testing validate the route to production.

/ 04

Tooling & Fixtures

Custom tooling and fixtures improve machining stability, reduce cycle times and deliver greater dimensional consistency with a superior surface finish.

07 — Quality Assurance

Quality Is Built In, Not Added at the End

At CalGroup, quality begins with planning and continues through material control, production, testing and dispatch. Inspection is not a final checkpoint; it is part of the complete manufacturing process.

Material & Supplier Assurance

Approved suppliers, verified material certificates and controlled incoming inspection ensure every raw material meets defined chemical, mechanical and application-specific requirements before it enters production.

Stage Wise Testing & Validation

Inspection and testing are carried out at defined production stages—from material verification and casting through machining, heat treatment and final inspection—helping identify deviations early and maintain process consistency.

Independent Audits & Quality Checks

Internal reviews, third-party inspections and customer-specific quality checks provide an additional layer of verification, ensuring processes, documentation and finished components comply with applicable standards and approval requirements.

Full Traceability

Unique identification links the finished casting to its raw-material lot, supplier, heat number, chemical composition, production records, radiography and testing history—supporting accurate investigation and corrective action.

08 — Responsible Manufacturing

Built for sustainable future

CalGroup combines environmental management, resource conservation and continuous process improvement to reduce manufacturing impact while maintaining efficient operations.

Resource Efficiency

In-house sand reclamation enables moulding-sand reuse, helping reduce virgin material consumption and manufacturing waste.

Energy Management

Power-factor and consumption monitoring support ongoing improvements in plant-wide energy efficiency.

Water Conservation

Closed-loop cooling and water recirculation help minimise freshwater consumption across manufacturing operations.

Air Management

Fume extraction and pollution-control systems support controlled emissions and environmental compliance during manufacturing.

Green Campus

Plantation and maintained green spaces contribute to a more responsible manufacturing environment.
